Right before we got married, we went away for a weekend and completely unplugged. We didnt have our phones (they were on for emergencies but not used), no TV, just us, camping together and talking. We talked about a lot of big things, and we enjoyed the time together. It also gave us time to bring up things we need from a marriage, things we expect, etc.

Rules of Engagement by Richard and Katharine Hill. We skipped the wedding planning bit and headed to the marriage preparation part. It was very helpful to initiate conversations on challenging topics.
I also bought “The Marriage Book” by Nicky and Sila Lee. We didn’t do that book yet as we’re currently reading the Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis. We’re also reading a chapter from the New Testament whenever we read the Imitation. My SO isn’t Catholic while I am. So it was really nice of him to want to do the reflection together since we got engaged last October..
