My partner and I are both 26 and have been together for nearly 4 years (living together for 3). We have had lots of good friends getting engaged/married lateley and it has spurred many conversations about our own future. We are both on the same page about wanting to get married maybe 2020, we’ve had a little look together at rings so he knows the style I like. We are both in great places in life, and this year he has got 2 huge pay rises at work, and his salary has increased about 30K so we are in a super solid place finacially right now.
A few days ago he mentioned he had talked to his mum (who I adore) on the phone at work, which struck me as weird because normally we both facetime her around 6pm. I asked if everything was ok/ what she had called him about and he said he called her to get her advice on “a big purchase”, when I tried to ask him what he just laughed and said “You know what I’m talking about”. The other day He showed me this gif on reddit the other day of a proposal where the guy drops the ring (can you just imagine what a nightmare that would be?) and I said “Jeez I hope he had it insured before hand” he looked at me a bit confused and said “You need ring insurance?” and I just explained people usually add it to their contents insurance as a specific item and he looked off a bit thoguhtfully and said “Or travel insurance… good to know”
Anyway, we have a trip to Hawaii planned for christmas with his family, and I have always assumed the proposal would probably happen next year sometime, but his comment about travel insurance definitly got me wondering…
Any other bees that are just enjoying the anticipation and excitiment? I just keep thinking how lucky I am to have my SO, and seriously can’t wait to marry that man, whenever the time comes. I love surprises so much so I don’t want to ruin anything, but it is so fun to try and put together clues and pretend to be a detective
