- Wedding: October 2011
My fiancé and I got engaged three months ago and will be tying the knot in October of 2011. Our family and friends are all aware of our engagement, have seen the ring, and have asked all the standard questions…Did you pick a date? Yes. Do you have a dress? No. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Not sure. Where are you registered? Um, we haven’t. The majority of this has happened over the holidays and at other family functions (birthday parties, baptisms, etc).
Side note- my fiancé’s family is huge, very involved, and celebrates nearly everything. While my family is extremely small and celebrates next to nothing (for my Mom’s 60th birthday this month the four of us went out to breakfast at the usual diner).
OK, back to the engagement party, or lack there of. So my fiancé and I kinda don’t feel the need to have an engagement party since everyone is well aware of what is going on. However, my best friend and bridesmaid has generously offered to host one in our honor.
My question to you is, is it too late to have an engagement party? Did we miss the boat?
