I’m a newly engaged bee and our engagement party is this coming weekend. We decided to do a cupcake tower with a small cake on top for us to cut. We are having our cupcakes in a few different yummy flavours and are using them as a dessert option for our guests.

Newbridetobee:  this is a great idea.

I just made a 5″ cake with 100 cupcakes on a beautiful stand. There are other options though.

Cheesecake and pie are the first to come to mind. You could do a few different flavors too.

I’d personally vote for cheesecake, every time.

We don’t like cake either. We are having a cookie cake for our engagement party!

Jessylouise:  I never thought about a cake and our engagement party is 2 weeks away.  Is that a thing Americans do?

whoa_its_ash:  we are literally just having people over to his place and buying gold paper plates and napkins and such and grilling up some food so his family and body building friends can meet me, my family met him months ago.  Its not really what other people would consider an engagement party. . . I was going to have apple pies and cookies for dessert. . . now I don’t know?!

The “cake moment” should be left for the wedding. We didnt have any desserts at our e-party at all… unless you count jello shots as dessert….
