@NVACat:  I think an evite is appropriate. You could also use something like Paperless Post which has some nicer “invitations” that get sent via e-mail.

Thats what we did. I felt like it was a waste to do an invitation, put on stamps, then wait for RSVP’s.

it was so easy….. we included our engagment pics so it was still personal and it turned out great. Im not a huge fan of snail mail so if there is anyway to avoid it I will. It was quick and easy, trust me you will have other things to be worried about. And this is not one of them… lol

@NVACat:  My FI’s parents threw us an engagement party and they did an e-vite. I thought it was really cute, actually, and it also allowed us to see who was planning on attending (party was over Christmas in Massachusetts and we live in South Carolina).
