So my engagement party that Mr. Meowerson planned is fast approaching (2 more weeks)! And it is a smallish cocktail party for 24 of us- opportunity for the families and close friends to meet.
Most of them don’t really know the others (in fact, we have 5 friends flying across country to be there and have never met our families!). I saw the most adorable idea on one of the wedding blogs where the bride made name tags for all the guests with cute convo starters, ie, “I’m Ben. Ask me about: fly fishing, my theory on mandatory work naps, and how to make key lime pie in 15 minutes”. So I’m adoring this idea, but need your help in finding a way to a) make them super pretty and b) make them not seem too work retreat ice breakerish. Basically, how to class them up a bit.
I was thinking of going to paper source this weekend and buying some really pretty scrapbooking floral stickers (if you don’t know what these are, they are actually really pretty handmade delicate decorating things) and some high quality paper stock. The only thing I could think of how to attach them would be safety pins, and that kind of takes away from the whole look, not to mention I wouldn’t want anyone having to pole holes in their nice cocktail attire). The only other option I could think of where those like work function name tags with the stickies on back, and those don’t exactly scream “classy” to me, you know?
So I’m turning to my girls for help. Any ideas??
