- Wedding: June 2014
We originally planned an engagement party for the fall however we could unfortunately not follow through with those plans for multiple reasons – the biggest being Hurricane Sandy destroyed my families beach home and that has brought on a lot of stress and expenses.
We have a long engagement (2 years) so our wedding is not until June 2014. I know being engaged just shy of a year is a bit too late to have an engagement party but it is something I really wanted and I don’t want to look back and have regrets.
SO we have decided to look at it as more of a “set the date/announce the date party” as there are still some family members and friends who we have yet to announce the date to.
I REALLY need help with the invite wording. Originally it stated “_________&__________ are engaged! Please join us for a very special engagement party!”
My mom has suggested “___________&___________ are engaged! And have set the date, please join us to celebrate!” — Is it ok to start a sentence with “and” on an invite? I originally said no but everyone is telling me it’s just an invite. Any Suggestions??
