- Wedding: July 2015
It’s been a while since I posted, but what an awesome time I’ve been having (slightly off topic, but stay with me).
So as some of you know from my initial engagement post E and I are spending a year in Australia (have to go home soon – sob sob) and 4 months into the trip E sprung an awesome surprise engagement on me in July! So I joined the boards in October, shortly after we embarked on a 7 week road trip from Sydney to Cape Tribulation and back again in time for Christmas. What an AMAZING time we’ve had! Before I get to the reason for the post, just have a wee look at what we’ve been up to!
^ Kangaroos & wallabies on the beach at sunrise
^ Whitehaven Beach, the most beautiful place on Earth (I only wish that random in the pink shirt wasn’t in my picture!!)
^ Port Douglas, Far North Queensland
^ Cape tribulation panoramic view
So we have to go home soon, which is good because we miss our friends and family so much, but bad because it’s so warm and sunny here! So we haven’t seen ANY of our friends from home (except the 3 that were with us) since we got engaged. We had a small engagement party in July with some Aussie friends, but are planning the big one when we get back.
A little background to me…I absolutely LOVE planning and organising! I’m really good at it and a bit of a control freak so I love seeing a plan come together. One thing I love more than planning? THEME PARTIES!!!! I’m known for theme parties, loving them etc etc and my friends at home actually joked before we left that they were looking forward to a break from theme parties (we actually haven’t had a single theme party since we got to Australia and it makes me so sad!).
So it only seems natural that we have a themed engagement party! And that’s where I need you bees, for ideas!
We want something that’s going to be easily recognisable for a theme, doesn’t require completely elaborate costumes…and just generally is a bit silly – a few years ago we had a theme party where around 30 of us were dressed as OAP’s (people actually thought we were OAPs) and it was the best day ever!
Ok, I think that’s enough blurb for now…looking forward to hearing your ideas!
