I’m sorry that happened to you! I know what it’s like to be disappointed with your e-pics. I got mine back and felt like I looked huge in half of them. My fiance is stick thin, so that doesn’t help me look any smaller. I liked my gray dress I wore for the more formal pics, but for the casual ones my outfit did nothing for me. I wore a purple shirt and a pair of dark jeans. Well apparently the jeans gave me a bit of a muffin top, and since the shirt was fitted, you could definitely see some love handles. I hate all the full body shots of me in that outfit. I am on a mission to lose those extra pounds!

I always thought engagement shoots were silly. A friend of ours took pictures when Fiance proposed, but unfortunately the “lab” ruined them (they were film, taken on a very old camera).
I think you should reschedule after you lose more weight. It may give you a big boost of encouragment when you see the second round and how far you’ve come 🙂

I’m gonna agree with PP. We are absolutely our worst critics. I am pretty small, but have big time body dysmorphia and have run the gammit of eating disorders. When I got our pictures back, I thought I looked enormous in them all, even though i had been working out like a crazy person.
After awhile, I got over it, and realized that they were really beautiful pictures! Maybe take a break from looking at them for awhile? It can just make matters worse.
Congrats on the weight loss! That’s great! I’ve seen your pics on the bee, and I definitely do NOT think you look huge at all! But, hey, maybe this is the motivation you need to get in tip top shape?

I say hold out until you feel over the moon about yourself again. I recently lost 18lbs and kind of wish I could have a do-over for my photos too. Even though I was happy with them originally, now that I am down to my goal weight, I know I could look bettter.
Like for instance, the jeans I really wanted to wear were too tight and I had to settle for another pair in my shots. Now my favorite jeans are actually loose on me!
so hold out for a bit and in the meantime work with the ones that you have.
But make sure that the co. gives you a free photo shoot at a later time!

Sorry to hear this. I agree with PP that we are our own worst critics. Also, because it was the second shooter, it might be possible that he/she didn’t take your picture from the most flattering angles.
I would wait until spring when you feel better about yourself. I know it might be awkward, but I would share your concerns about how you look with your photogrpahers, and maybe they can try to position you better or take your pic from different angles.
On another note, you mentioned that you were uncomfortable, and hate having your picture taken. I think this can come across in posture etc. When we had our e-pics done, we went out to lunch and had a drink beforehand just to sort of loosen up.

I have a similar experience.. except my photos werent lost..but the angles that the photographer took of me were AWFUL! The only pic I looked good in was when he edited the crap out of me.. I.E. cutting some of my arm off, my face, ERASING my freakles.. It’s me but its not you know? I’m a plus size girl and I’m going with a different photographer but we aren’t doing an engagement session until May.. I would suggest waiting a bit til you feel more comfortable with yourself. I know I wont be to my goal weight but I wanna be more comfortable in front of the camera.

Our photographer was awesome but I feel the same way, I look HUGE. I’m waiting to get all our pics back so I can see if there are any where I look halfway decent.
