I have my engagement photoshoot coming up in October and I’m wondering- what the heck do I wear?! My photographer suggested bringing two different outfits to change into. I’ve been looking online at photos and it looks like a lot of brides to be either wear a flannel/sweater and jeans or a maxi dress. We’re having our photos taken outside of an estate at national park (here’s a link for pictures http://parque-peachtree.com/gallery/venue/). Our dog is also going to be in it. Any suggestions would be welcome! Feel free to post pics of your engagement photoshoots to give me ideas!!
Also side note- my fiance wants us to dress up as a ketchup and mustard bottles and have our dog wear a hot dog costume. Which I’m not completely against either.

It’s totally up to you! Whatever feels most comfortable! At that venue maybe consider a polished look that has just a bit of outdoorsy-ness to it?

after your fiancé’s suggestion, why are you still searching?

Wear something youre comfortable in. My photographer said wear something that feels you, but is nice enough wear out to dinner.

Bright colors are a lovely option, both for the casual and dressier outfits:
For a sweater dress such as the one below, I suggest wearing the belt loosely, over the hips:

Oh my god, do the ketchup and mustard, but in a beautiful natural setting. It would be so cute and funny. I love the idea of not taking these things too seriously. Who else would have photos like that? If you two have that sense of humor together, THAT’S a beautiful thing to celebrate. DO IT.

We wanted to wear something nice but still feel like us, we also brought a change of outfit sort of he changed into a jacket and I changed my skirt. 😊 sorry if the photo is huge.

I wore a printed Lilly Pulitzer dress which pretty much defied all the advice to wear a solid neutral color. I love Lilly and knew I’d be comfortable in it, and it worked. My only other advice:
1. Try to dress for the weather if you’ll be outside. Our shoot was May 15 and it was 50 degrees F. I froze.
2. If you wear self tanner, remember to apply it on all exposed limbs and not just your legs. Haha my arms and my legs look like they belong to two different people. Needless to say, our save the dates didn’t have our photos on them…

Thank you! The belt is from Asos; they have so many beautiful options for everything! COS is also great, as well as Zara. But basically all shops have merchandise with interesting possibilities. I’d be more than happy to assist you

I dunno. My plan is to pick my favorite outfit. Something I wear all the time and feel good in. Everybody I’m inviting knows me and my wardrobe. I’m not going fit a surprise… I’m going for a nice picture of me and my loved one.

Here’s what my fiance and I wore for ours with our doggos! I felt like the vest was flattering and stylish while still feeling like ‘me.’ Have so much fun! I loved getting our pictures done!
