thanks for your feedback! i wound up emailing my photographer to see what he thinks about it, so just waiting on his response.
tbh, i’m not really worried about my engagement pics being “timeless”. i see engagement pics (and most pictures) as capturing *this* moment in time – it’s commemorating a specific slice of my life. everything in fashion comes and goes, and even in solid colors you can have the same “ugh, what was i thinking?” reaction 5 years from now because of the cut of things. i guess rather than worry about myself cringing 5 years from now, i’m just going to laugh and think “hey, that was very fashionable at the time!” – just like i do when looking back on stuff i wore in high school and college.
my bigger concern is whether the print will actually photograph – will it be too distracting, etc.

Love that two part dress! I think that blue one looks very cute too
Yeah, I usually do wear dresses on the weekends cause I get bored of my work uniform every other day lol
that outfit looks great!
I am thinking of going with the pink/white dress cause it does go with my hair and skin tone a little better than the other. Also the shoes I wore on our first date go well with that dress so I think that would be fun to have them in our engagement photos 😀

Love seeing all these pics! They are all so nice and cute!
Haha I bought those dresses specifically for the pics and I keep thinking “no I should get something else”. There is just something in our brains that says there’s still time left, we should improve it, even though it’s already good XD

We wore our fancy pants. 🙂

There was something I kept seeing that said you should stay away from big prints because you don’t want people’s eyes to go only to to the print. I think though that if you get pictures done in a city setting, the flowery print like that can work well because it contrasts to the city surroundings. If you were going to something like a flower garden or something very naturey then it might be best to go with something more plain because then you will stand out from the nature surroundings in a simpler print.

- Wedding: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception/The Gallery
We did three outfits as I really wanted not only more casual photos but formal ones where we’re not in our wedding clothes.
So we ended up in “date night” clothes, casual clothes, and then formal. I’m so happy we went with a range of styles, I love how they turned out!

- Wedding: August 2016 - Liberty House
I went with a print dress for our engagement shoot! It was fall, so I paired it with a drapey cardigan. I may be biased, but I think prints are cute 🙂
Basically, we just dressed as if we were going on a nice but casual date, since that’s what we wanted our engagement shoot to feel like. We only wore one outfit because I didn’t want to worry about carrying a bag of clothes to change into (we’re in NYC, so no car!).

aw, I love your dress! I’m in NYC, too (maybe it’s a city girl thing (: ) but we’re doing our shoot out of state.

- Wedding: May 2016 - Ever After Banquet Hall
We had two looks. One casual and one a little dressy, but not formal.
