We are getting our engagement photos taken the tuesday before Thanksgiving! I am so EXCITED! I really want to use props to make myself more comfortable and to make it more fun. We are hopefully going to pick out outfits this weekend. I have seen people use chalkboards/white boards, balloons, picnic blankets… but I want some other ideas. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or pictures to share I would love to hear/see them!!

Does your wedding have a theme? Or does your venue give a certain feel? Do you or your Fiance share any hobbies? I feel like I need a little more insight before suggestions for props!
Are you a goofy couple?
Are you a sporty couple?
are you a vintage-y couple?
are you a hipster couple?
where are you having your epix?
help me help you! lol

He is really laid back and one might say “goofy” I am really obsessive and controlling. We are having our pictures taken at the park in Beacon, NY. It is on the Hudson River and very very close to the Beacon train station. I haven’t been down there since Hurricane Sandy, so im not sure what kind of damage it may have incurred, although my fiance has been there and didn’t seem to notice any obstacles that could interfere. There is also swings and a jungle gym there…
I want to find a picnic blanket…. I think I have one somewhere…. We haven’t booked the date but I think we will be getting married at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel on Aug 31 2014

We used a couple different fun props. We are still waiting for our pics though.
We used a ring pop and I got down on one knee and proposed to him. This was a lot of fun, but he could also do this to you? I just giggle at role reversal: where I am presenting to him and his expression is a happy freak out.
Another thing we did was toast orange crush soda bottles. I wanted pops of color and I think the old fashioned bottles are cute.
Also we made a pennant that had our date on it, since we took pics at the school we both go to. But you could make a cute pennant or pennant banner with the date on it. I know there are a lot of templates out there.
The jungle gym and swings will be fun. I hope there is not too much damage from the hurricane.

I would do the picnic theme!
get a blanket & a bottle of wine (or other drink, whatever you want but I think wine is fitting!) & grapes & cheese & maybe a parasol and you can find lots of cute ways to incorporate the food or “cheers” or maybe even a food fight!
with him holdin the basket & you holding the parasol (or cute umbrella) I think you can have some adorable shots with a relaxed picnic theme.
what thyou’re colors are you thinking about incorporating into your wedding?
It might be nice to have a universal theme (ie, I had a nautical wedding on a yacht so we took pix on/under the boardwalk & pier by our venue.)

Confetti always seems to turn out really great in photos! There were several things that I found that I wanted to recreat but didn’t feel like putting alot of effort into making it all. I just painted a large wooden letter and we used that for some shots. Other than that there was a hammock available that we also used.
Here’s one idea I always thought was cute!

These are all great ideas!!! We are thinking of incorporating my dog. Although the dog isn’t “ours” he loves her so much and wanted her in the pictures. I was thinking about using rainbow sprinkles to create a similar effect to confetti since all the leaves have fallen and are wet and gross now. I was also thinking about using sparklers but I am not sure how to incoporate them.
