If you are looking for a beach setting, Corona Del Mar is a great location.  Or…if you want to travel a bit more, Laguna is always nice as well.  They both have smaller beaches with rocks and privacy.  I am using D2 Photography (http://www.deedeedallas.com) and got a very good deal and their work is very nice.  They work out of the owners home (still felt very professional) so they are able to keep the cost down.  I got a free engagement session and a 3rd photographer thrown in as well.  Hope this helps!

My good friends who recently tied the knot took some e-photos at the beaches at Palos Verdes… the background is gorgeous!  I’m not sure the exact location, but if you’d like, I can ask my friends.  Just lmk.  I’m considering doing a beachy e-session as well… I figure we’re so lucky to live so close to natural beauty of the Pacific, we should take advantage of it!  Are you planning on taking shots elsewhere too?

It says you are from Anaheim – Angels stadium if you are Angels/baseball fans!  Thats where I did my pictures, it was so much fun and we got private accesss to the entire stadium.

The Mission at San Juan Capistrano is a popular spot, Laguna Beach is always great. Disneyland if you’re a fan. etc.

As for photogs, what’s your price range??

Ohh… I don’t know Orange County very well, but Downtown Disney/Disneyland could make for some fun engagement photos.  I always wished my name started with one of the letters in "California" so I could have a picture in front of one of the giant letters  :

If you like the beach then Crystal Cove or Dana Point has some nice areas. If you prefer something more urban than the streets of Laguna Beach, Old Town Pasadena and downtown LA would be a lot of fun.

we just had our e-session at Point Fermin in San Pedro!

It was a lot of fun! Theres the Point Fermin Park overlooking the ocean (its on the cliffs), the Point Fermin Lighthouse, The Korean Friendship Bell, you can walk down the stairs to the beach …all in one place….I’m hoping for lots of great pix.

Only thing i have to say about the beach in the afternoons…its sooo windy!  My dress kept whipping up all over the place and i think i mooned my photogs! hehe. hopefully they didn’t get that pic otherwise Mr. Contrary will probably post it somewhere!

Also i have to second Crystal Cove, lovely spot esp. by the cottages and the rocks, its so typical California!

I’m in the same boat – looking for a good spot in OC to do photos.  I am interested in Laguna – where exactly besides the beach would be a good spot? I’ve never been to CA before. 🙂

Besides the Balboa Fun zone the only places would probably be the actual beaches themself.  Or one of the many piers…

Are there any places in the town of Laguna worth looking into? Colorful backdrops, signs, etc?
