nautilusl2:  you and your Fiance look fantastic. Your outfits, makeup, hair, shoes, etc, are all on point, very flattering, and look comfortable/natural. Also, both you and your Fiance are good looking people, so that helps! Haha. It is definitely not you guys. I think the photographer had a rough time putting you in poses that are fluid, or natural. The lighting and actual photo quality isn’t bad at all IMO, just the level of skill I think. If you truly don’t like them, pick another more experienced photographer and just go for it!

You guys look gorgeous. The pics are ok; certainly for an engagement shoot. I’d have a little think about whether photography is important to you on your wedding day. If you’re happy with ok pics than go for it, but you may want to shop aroimd for someone who is at a higher level. I wish some of the photographers on the bee would post because I can’t explain what’s wrong technically with any real credibility but I feel the lens or settings used is off and gives some of the pics a distorted look and the angles and composition aren’t really @ a professional level. At least having the shoot has given you some more info on which to base your decision before the day so you won’t have any regrets either way. Good luck!

nautilusl2:  Some of them do look like you are being posed, but for some looking posed there are also ones that look beautiful and natural too! I think you’re SO looks a little more stiff than you do in a few of the photos…but it’s so understandable when engagement pics is not something you do everyday.

The one of you two on the stairs is to die for!!! 🙂

nautilusl2:  Being a photographer im going to be honest, you my dear look stunning! But honestly these pictures look like they were taken with a camera phone. They dont look like a professional photographer took them…

I think they look great. The first batch you posted definitely look a little more stiff and posed, but I can see as the day went on everyone loosened up and became more natural. The last batch of pics are my favorite, but you and your Fiance look pretty good in all of them!

nautilusl2:  You guys are super adorable, but these photos just don’t do you justice. I’ll be really honest, as a wedding photographer myself, they look amature. Focus and lighting is all over the place, and posing is not natura – almost chessyl. Now, plenty of people would find them to be perfectly fine, and that’s totally ok. If you’re having doubts and not happy with the photos, I’d suggest looking for someone else.

Experience is just one of those things that you just can’t fake. Part of being experienced with weddings and engagments is being able to work in any lighting condition. Likewise, you should be able to work with any couple. By that I mean, not every couple is a “pintrest snuggler” and someone who is exerienced knows how to work around that and read a couple to do what is most flattering.

You two are adorable…but as a photographer, I second what others have been saying. If she/he had used a shallower depth of field (to make the background more blurry), the quality of these would skyrocket. Also, the lighting is hit and miss.

I love your smiles and faces in the last set of them – it can take a while to relax during engagement shoots, and often the ones at the end are the best! I rarely get great natural photos right off the bat 🙂

I am on board with a lot of PPs.  You look amazing!  Wonderful outfit choices and your hair is gorgeous!  But, the photos look like they were taken by an amateur!  This is one of the main reasons that engagement photos are so important– you can see if your photographer is up to par with what you want for your wedding day.  Depending on where photography ranks for you in importance, I would shop around for another photographer.  You should look at your photos and know you love them!!!
