We took photos with our dogs. It was definitely not easy, but we have 2 large dogs who are both puppies. We ended up doing a few different shots, and then putting them back in the car while we finished. This is just one of the sneak peeks I’ve seen, so I’m not sure if there are any other good ones, but I do love this one!

anabolina :  I think that will be great!! And it’s an area she knows, which will help. We took ours in a garden, and our dogs were just going crazy trying to sniff everything. I’d suggest walking her before your photos so she’s a little bit tired. I also had a ton of treats with me, both in my pocket and gave some to the photographer, and she was holding them while she took the photos. If anything, just give it a try… you just need 1 good one! 🙂

We had our two doggies in some of our photos and… they did not cooperate and they hated it lol.

They’re funny pictures for sure, but I didn’t end up posting any of them because they weren’t cute haha.

So happy this is a thread!! The engagment pics with my doggos are some of my favorite. Sorry if the images are HUGE!! I’m not sure how to make them smaller. As for tips, our photographer made silly noises to get their attention. It was actually pretty hilarious because the mural pics were taken behind people seated outdoors at a restaurant, from their view they couldn’t see the dogs, only us. So it probably looked like she was making silly noises at us! Too funny! Good luck getting your doggy to cooperate, you never know with pets. 🙂

anabolina :  We brought a favorite toy, and the photographer squeaked it when she needed our dog to look at her. Our dog totally stole the show. 14556675_1170178336359285_298315633792365756_o920738c8-1996-484f-a01e-72772e5febc8-rt_autoee49782b-32cb-4c0c-b71c-2cdb2aaf63ba-rt_auto

anabolina :  Aw thank you!! I made the tie collar myself. I got a mens dress shirt and tie from goodwill. I cut the collar off of the shirt and then tied the tie around it and held it with hot glue! For the pearls I got lucky and found a streachy headband at the salvation army and used that as well as a dollar general collar with a calla lilly hot glued on.

Our dog was in most of our engagement photos…this one wound up being the photo for our save the date though, and everyone loved it!

The best advice I could give is have a pet handler, like someone who is not you or your photographer who can hold the pets/take leashes/squeak toys/etc.  We had our dogs around for about 25% of our engagement photos and it went very well, but I think it would have been a lot more hectic if we didn’t have another person around to look after them.  With the extra person, we could relax and focus on getting cute photos instead of worrying about the puppers constantly.

We call this our family photo, but it was a surprise engagement and photo shoot, which was sweet… although I wish I knew it was coming, I would have had my dog groomed. She’s pretty gross in this picture.
