IS it worth it to get engagement photos (these would be a gift from family, so cost is not an issue)? Originally my fiance and I decided not to get them, but I figured since these will be free, it might not be a bad idea as it can be a good way to get comfortable with a photographer and be able to work with him before the actual day of the wedding. What are your thoughts on this?

Yes, I think they are worth it. The photos are great and nice to have, but honestly, I think getting comfortable with your photographer and their style and how they like to work is a huge bonus. It helps in getting you comfortable with them and in front of the camera, so you don’t have to spend that time on your wedding day waiting to get comfortable. It allows you to maximize the time for photos and avoid a lot of the awkwardness at the beginning of a photo shoot. Plus, I’m sure your families would appreciate a few nice photos of you two!
Edit: sorry for the ramble…and how many times I said “getting comfortable” lol!

Yes. engagement photos are worth it, if nothing else, they are a judge of what kind of pictures you will be getting at your wedding from the photographers.

I love ours :). It’s nice to have professional photos of us, and our photographer is really fun, so spending an hour or so with her was great :). If it’s free to you, I would definitely do it.
