@DaniLyn:  I guess your wedding colours would be considered “neutral”, otherwise I would have suggested wearing something coral/light green/beige.

What about using props in your wedding colours? For example, you could have coral/light green balloons? So it would look similar to this:

Or you make the engagement pic you use for the Save-The-Date Cards and wedding decorations sepia coloured (beige-ish) so it would fit within your theme:

I don’t think your engagement photos need to reflect the colors of your wedding.

I would also recommend wearing 2-3 different outfits for the engagement shoot.  I think the 2-3 outfits should be dramatically different from one another…. say a dress for one and perhaps jeans and a shirt for the other. 

My first outfit was a blue dress with a beige belt.  My second outfit was a pink and beige printed shirt with a solid bottom.  I think the patterned shirt did not photograph as well as the blue dress so I think sticking to solid colors is better. 

I am not a fan of props but that is just me…. I find them visually distracting…..
