Hi!
My name is Lauren and I’m getting married 10/20/18! It’s coming soon! We’re getting our engagement pictures done outside at Ft. McHenry (don’t ask, I let him pick 🤦🏻♀️) on Sunday. I LITERALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WEAR. I’m totally over thinking this and I know it. I have a long maxi sun dress that is back on the top and a grey blue on the bottom and I also have a black sundress. All of my friends are telling me to wear wedges with jeans and a cute top. I just have NO idea what to do.
What did y’all wear for your engagement pictures?

Congratulations Lauren! So exciting! This is what we wore (it was cold that day).

Lauren16 : Could you post a picture of your black sundress?

Lauren16 : Don’t be too worried about what your friends are saying – the most important thing is that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing, so that you will look comfortable in your photos!
If you have a fairly simple outfit, such as a one-colour dress, I would try and get a couple statement accessories to make it pop. Perhaps a necklace, bracelet, or shoes in a statement colour?

This is the black sundress. I was thinking maybe with some wedges (not the shoes I have on) or something with some accessories

Lauren16 : I like your dress, and think it will be perfect for the chosen location for your photos. Some ideas:

This is what we wore. We decided to dress-up. We took some indoor pictures and some outdoor pictures at a park. We also used some props. (That’s why I’m holding a bouquet.)
My reasoning was that I wanted to practice taking pictures dressed- up and holding a bouquet/other props (we also had a chalk board and some wooden letters) because that’s how it’ll be on our wedding day.
I like your black dress. Good luck, Bee! And have fun!

Very pretty dress! You have so many options with it.
Wedges would be fine. I like PPs silver hoops and bracelet ideas. I would not do a necklace because you have so much interest on top already with the cold shoulders.

You could do both if possible? My fiance and I changed outfits half way through ours. The first part I wore a flowy dress and the second part we wanted more casual ones!

We wore fancy clothes and love the way the pictures turned out! If we didn’t go this route, our backup plan was to wear jeans and nice tops.

Thank you all so much! I’m going to go with the black dress 🤗 I’m going to stop by DSW on my way home from work today to try and find some wedges! I’ll keep y’all updated!

I wore a few outfits for my engagemnet photos but my favorites from our shoot are in an LBD, too! I kept it simple with minimal accessories. We went for slightly dressier than an average day, but still within our normal range – like what we’d wear for a dinner date. It felt like the right medium for us. Normal us but on a good day. 🙂 We did do some pix in jeans too but I ended up preferring the slightly dressier ones.
