Well these two other pictures are completely different views, so I’m sure they look similar to yours.

aoife89 :  I think your ring is lovely. Do you just prefer a lower setting then?

aoife89 :  I think it’s beautiful 🙂 it looks exactly the same as the ring I’m waiting for (we’ve ordered it from Lily Arkwright). Do you mind me asking where yours is from?

aoife89 :  your ring is in a prong setting (from what i can see based on side view). The setting that you want is in a catheral setting. Also, the band on your ring holds the same thickness through out, while the other rings has a slight tapered design as the band goes towards the stone. I hope I made sense.

rutheliza :  Sorry to go off topic, but my ring is Lily Arkwright too! So thrilled with it and how great they were to work with!

Perhaps a cathedral setting? The band rises up to meet the stone that way. It gives the effect of softening the look of the stone in relation to the band. Example from my ring:

Agree with others that your inspiration setting appears to be a cathedral setting, whereas your ring is not.  Also, it looks like your diamond is set very high. Going with a cathedral setting and lowering the diamond a bit will probably achieve what you are looking for.  GL!

I had to look multiple times to have an idea of what you meant. You want a knive edge effect around the stone? It might not be too costly of a switch to do even roght now. It’s just a different type of setting.

princessmiaofgenovia :  No way!! Is it the Grace?? Do you mind telling me what carat you got and what your finger size is? It’s so hard finding photos to compare with and I’m fed up of waiting for it haha.

Edit: Sorry I just realised you aren’t the original OP! I’d love to see your ring though 🙂 I’m waiting for the Grace and can’t wait for it to arrive 🙂

OP – I’m not entirely sure what you mean by the original ask, but it seems like you’re talking about how your ring is too high set, and the mounting itself doesn’t feel as integrated with the band as you like. If this is what you’re talking about, I guess you check out this guide to see how you might want to have the jeweler re-mount your diamond (you seem to have a peg head style right now): https://www.diamondnexus.com/blog/ring-settings-styles-guide/

Also note that a lot of pictures here are “frontal” views / taken directly above a ring. On these boards, it’s hard to tell how high set someone’s diamond is, since it’s not a side view of the mounting. Here are my rings as an example – in the first picture, you can’t really tell how my ring is set, and it looks relatively integrated or “blended in” to the band. In the second photo of a closer side view, you can see that it’s set quite high.

Hope this helps!

So yours is a peg head setting. I can’t tell from all your inspo pics, but at least the second one is a cathedral style, and it looks like it tapers towards the stone. If you want that look, take a look at settings something like this:

Any jeweller can order in a stuller setting, and theyre pretty inexpensive. Do you like any of these? Ask your jeweller for pricing (maybe compare a few).
