Does anyone else get a little squirreley when these come on? I start looking around the room, coughing, sipping my drink — anything to try and cover my interest in the commercial. I notice he gets like that, too. I wonder if I should just blurt out one day “I like that one” to open up the conversation.
Last night our roommate got a “save the date” from a friend and we had a brief discussion about weddings and what we want for our own weddings. Made me feel good – I was hoping when she left the room, he would have said something like “When are we getting married?!” but it just ended. I don’t want to push too hard, but it’s hard to be patient!

Ha!!!! Same here!!!
I started recently paying attention instead, though… and there is sort of an awkward silence. 😀

- Wedding: March 2016 - Modern, Classic, Fun
I used to feel that way all the time — I hated it! Anytime someone got engaged or married on a tv show or commercial I would get quiet and weird. I totally feel you girl, I think that is normal for ladies who are waiting.

TV commercials, windows in jewelry stores with giant diamonds in them, and yes, getting save the dates in the mail! I get squirelly for all of them! (So called “egagement season” is the worst!)

I used to feel like that too. And some of those commercials are so stupid. There is one that plays on the radio here and it says something like Only a Tacori ring will show her how much you love her.

My SO has resulted to nudging me or something when they come on. It’s become so exasperating! Lol

hahah yes! or when a sitcom shows a girl talking about her engagement i’ll say HEY thats almost meee! *winks at bf LOL

I feel awkward when I am watching a movie with my SO and the guy proposes in the movie or the scene that the couple is at their wedding!

Lately I just feel awkward knowing he’s had the ring for 2 months now. Sometimes though I’ll just flat out say ‘so when are we going to get engaged?’ lol I’m obviously getting impatient these days.

I totally remember those days! You could just say “are you going to buy me a ring like that?” and then laugh it off.

meeeeee! i side eye the commercial while pretending to look at my phone! lol or look at him and see if he has any reaction to it hehe.
We have had the conversation and talked about ring styles, but i know it will atleast be another year or two. hopefully not 2 ahhh

Haha this happened to me and my Fiance in the last few months or so before we got engaged. Although I didn’t know it at the time he already had the ring at that point so that could have contributed to the ‘squirrelly’ atmosphere on his side 🙂

lol these commercials don’t really bother me because they are often tacky cash-grabs – like
said above “Only a Tacori will show you how much you love her?” ….I actually feel sorry for the guys
when these commercials come on! Equating how much he (over)spends with how much he loves his girlfriend. Guys get stressed out during this period too- just in different ways than we do.
Maybe if a diamond commercial came on that was actually sweet and sentimental instead of Buy Big! Buy Now! it might make me wistful….lol but the cheesy ones they inundate us with during the holidays and before Valentine’s :p

I’m just finding this thread..
I am beginning to become very annoyed w/ all the holiday commercials and I’ve never made negative comments about them, but I think next time we see one I’m going to comment on how stupid I think they are. Perhaps that will clue him in that I’m antsy.

I accidently found myself humming along to one of them this week in front of him. Those jingles are too darn catchy!
