I wore mine on my right hand and switched it over to my left hand over my band after the ceremony.

A few options I’ve read about:

Wear it on your ring finger and place the wedding band on top during the ceremony and switch it later. (or don’t switch it)

Wear it on your ring finger, and have your FH take it off as part of the ring exchange and place the wedding ring on and then the e-ring.

Wear it on a different finger.

I think engagement rings are so gorgeous – it would be a shame not to wear it at all on your wedding day!

I wore mine on my right hand during the ceremony.  After the wedding, I added it back onto my left hand, above my wedding band.  In the photos (becuase they were before the wedding), I just had it on my left hand as usual.

I will be wearing my promise ring and my engagement on my right hand prior to the ceremony and then I will switch them to my left hand after the ceremony. My wedding band is a wrap, so I think it doesn’t look as nice without it’s sisters. And yes, I have already tried them on together. I keep sneaking in tryings on. I told my fiance about it today and he just laughed at me.

I also wore mine on my right hand and switched it over right after the ceremony.

I have been wondering about this too!  I have seen many times in pictures and on videos where the wedding band is placed on top of the engagment ring.  I think I might just do that since I love my e-ring.

For photos before the ceremony, I kept my ring on my left hand. For the ceremony, I moved it to my right hand, and once that was over, I moved it back to my left hand over my wedding band. It worked out great!

I too wondered about this. Although, I have a claddagh ring I wear on my right hand middle finger and dont think the 2 would look good next to each other so I guess Ill just take off the claddagh for the wedding.

We did a first look, and we wore our wedding bands for those photos – I wore my e-ring as well.  That way theyre in all the photos.  For the ceremony, one of my close friends held it, then we did an angagement ring blessing and ceremony where he placed it back on my finger over the band

I am getting my ring, plus my 2 wedding bands soldered together as a set the week before the wedding.  I will give it to Fiance and he will put the whole set on my finger during the ceremony.

@clarebee: I have a claddagh on my right ring finger, too! I don’t want to take my claddagh off for the wedding, though. Maybe I’ll just have C take the engagement ring off, put the wedding ring on, then put the engagement ring back on…
