mahadewi :  I wear mine basically all the time, except when I go to bed in which I put it in my ring holder on my night stand. I do take it off when I’m cooking, cleaning and getting ready for the day though….but I set it on the counter and then put it right back on after I’ve applied lotion or I’m done with whatever activity it is I’m doing. I even take it off when I go to the bathroom and then put it back on after I’ve washed my hands and put on lotion.

I leave my wedding ring on all the time except for baking when it can indent on the pastry / icing.

My engagement ring I take off at night and showing. I also some days don’t put it on if I’m not going out.

Mostly this is to protect them. My rings don’t sit flush and the rubbing could damage them.

I never wear mine to sleep or do dishes or work or workout. I bought a Enso ring to wear for those activities. I love my ring too much to hurt it.

When I first got it I wore it 24/7, other than messy things as I was of the same mind set, it’s forever/special should never be taken off …. but after wearing it to bed a few nights it would dig into my finger and make it a bit sore (because I get warm in the night, otherwise it fits fine).

So now I take it off for bed and put it on a ring holder, I also take it off to shower/bath now as I get scared of losing/damaging it.

Havent got my wedding ring yet but when I do I would love it to be one that I put on and never take off, but for the same bed time reasons etc I probably will take it off at night.

My ring is very delicate as that’s the style I like the most so I baby it and pretty much never wear it at home. I will probably keep my wedding ring on all the time, to me that’s the meaningful and symbolic ring, not the engagement ring.

I’m married so I wear my plain 4mm white Tungsten Carbide band most days. I’m military and just don’t like how distracting engagment rings look in uniform. I wear the engagment ring on the weekends sometimes or for special occasions but to me  there is something so classy and bold about a thicker plain wedding band. It’s screams married without trying to impress or show. Also Leaves a bit of mystery. Plus tungsten cardide is amazing I can workout, sleep, cook, clean, paint, hike etc in it and it stays shinny and scratch free. No way I’d put my white gold e-ring through half of that.

mahadewi :   I would take it off for working out, swimming, cleaning, cooking, showering and sleeping but only to protect it. I think taking it off once home is generally the best way to preserve it and prevent damage. As time goes by the newness of it all may wear off and you might want more simple options like a plain band or Qalo  band especially if raising small children.

mahadewi :  understandable your ring your finger. Hubs and I are sentimental too but have the mindset of the wedding rings are special and for special occasions ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ‍โ™€๏ธ. He wears his Qalo band most days. I have a small child and plan to have more so I just don’t want to wear my ering while playing in dirt, paint and play doe lol plus with my job and the gym it just fits my lifestyle better to just wear my band.

For work I’ll take it off. I usually will just wear a plain yellow gold band. My setting is high on my engagement ring and it can be uncomfortable to wear with a glove over it.

So mainly swap back to it when I finish at work and on the weekends.

I take it off for messy things because I don’t feel like cleaning it out of the ring (so when handling meat, greasy/oily things, gardening, etc). I don’t take it off for bed so I do sleep with it on.

Mine comes off when it’s time for bed and when doing chores. I only put it on once I’m getting ready too. If I don’t leave the house for the day I probably won’t put it on. I’ve had it for almost 6 years so while I love it and what it stands for I don’t feel like it needs to be on all of the time.

I voted “never” but that’s not *quite* true. I will take it off if it poses an injury risk (e.g. if I play the occasional soccer/lacrosse match; the rare times I go rock climbing; water skiing) — basically anyime I’m near narrow ropes moving at speed as I’ve heard too many gruesome tails of the ropes snagging under settings and shredding fingers. Or in the field sport case, if the ring could hurt someone else unintentionally if my hand is flailing around (plus by regulation all jewelery has to be removed during games).

I horseback ride, work out, walk and train the dog, apply lotion, shower, cook, clean, etc with it on. So I probably take it off a couple times a year at most. My ring is nearly 100 years old though so I figure if it’s stood the test of time so far, it will continue to do so ๐Ÿ˜€
