The second I get home all of my jewelry comes off. Hell, even my clothes come off and pj pants or sweat pants go on πŸ˜‚

I take my ring off for dishes, cleaning, workout, and sleeping. A couple times that I fell asleep with it I felt that it was snagging on my blankets and stuff so seems best not to sleep with it on. Outside of the house I always wear it!

It’s a series of small diamonds with a .3 ct center (~1 ct total weight). Quite a flat setting, which was a key criteria for me when searching. It’s set in platinum and the larger diamonds have bezel setting with 4 “corner” prongs. So they’re pretty tight in there πŸ˜€

I’ve had it 3 years now and haven’t taken it to the jeweler since the initial check-over. However he was impressed at how good of shape it’s in and didn’t have concerns of loose stones or weak points. (Conversely, my sister’s heirloom ring which is a saphire with a halo of diamonds he warned her that she’d need to have some prongs adjusted and probably the band restored/reinforced within 5-10 years so she has him check it periodically). I guess I’m just lucky I got the one that wears like iron πŸ˜€

mahadewi :  Your ring is lovely! Congrats on your recent wedding!

I only wear my rings when I leave the house for dinner or going shopping. I never wear them when I’m home as I end up taking them off all the time when I’m cooking/cleaning etc. My rings are 18k white gold so I am conscious of not being too rough on them (and I’m a bit lazy to have them replated more often.)

My ring is silver, so I take it off for rough activities and whenever I clean something with chemicals. I work in an officejob, so I usually wear it whenever I’m out of the house or when I’m just relaxing at home.

mahadewi :  I wear mine almost all the time. I sleep in it. I do take it off to shower because I brush my (long, curly) hair out with my fingers and lots of conditioner and it seems like it would get in the way. I wear it to work sometimes, I’m a nurse and work labor and delivery which can be messy, but I miss it when I don’t have it lol so most days I wear it. Sometimes I do wear a symbolic ring st work though – I have a small titanium band and a couple silicone bands I use for that.

When I first got it I was really worried about it breaking under gloves because the band is thin and it kind of torques it against my finger since the setting is high, but I don’t even notice it anymore.

I thought I would never take mine off but actually I do often take if off at home and keep it in the ring box – just because I am often cooking/cleaning when back at home and prefer it not to get knocked.  However when I am out even at the gym I keep it on or with me (tied on shoelace when lifting weights)as I am petrified of losing it.

mahadewi :  I’m part of the 24/7 ring wearing club! I purposely chose a ring with a thick band so it can survive being used and abused during my everyday life. I also feel like consistently taking the ring on and off throughout the day is worse than wearing it all the time because it heightens my chances of misplacing it.

I only wear my rings when I leave the house. If I’m just at home, or as soon as I get home, I take them off. For me, it’s not really because I need to baby them due to the setting, it’s just an issue of comfortability. I have two young children and I feel like my set will get in the way. Ditto on the clothes coming off and PJs on too!

The upside of it is that my rings still look like new!

My parents only wear their wedding band and they never take theirs off.

I take mine off if I’m baking and needing to use my hands or cleaning but that’s about it. I wear it when I workout but I may just wear my wedding band once I start lifting more.

To me, the more times I take it on and off the more chance I have of losing it!

I take mine off after I come home.  I know it is stupid but I just like to exercise, do chores etc.  I don’t want my ring to catch on anything.

While I would love to wear it 24/7, there are some things I take it off for. I almost never wear it in the shower for fear of losing it. I blame watching Apollo 13 on that one, where one of the wives loses her ring down the drain. surprised I also remove it when I do any cleaning around the house that will get my hands dirty, and I don’t always wear it to the gym (kind of depends on what routine I’m doing that day). I have a silicone wedding band I’ll sometimes wear for those activities. I want it to stay pretty and new looking as long as possible. I do sleep in mine though.
