jake4401 :  Glad you mentioned that. I haven’t spent a summer with my new ring yet so am curious to see how it will fit (better I am sure lol)

Most jewelers can add sizing beads or bumps.  It doesn’t take long.  Sometimes you need to experiment a little to figure out the best size and placement, though, so don’t lose hope if the first attempt doesn’t seem right to you.  Also, it can take a day or so to get used to how they feel.

I have sizing beads to make my ring fit like it’s 1/2 size smaller, which works perfectly as it gives me room for swelling (my fingers swell a lot) but also holds it upright on my finger.

I have the same problem because my knuckles are bigger than the base of my fingers! My jeweler added in speed “humps” and they are really comfortable and my ring sits upright all the time!

I got the coil sizers on Amazon and love them. I don’t want to size my rings down until I see how they fit over the summer, and the coils are a good temporary fix. Easy to put on or take off, don’t damage my rings, and can’t even see them unless I show turn my hand over.

Are you sure it’s just 1/4 a size too big? My ring came in as a 5.75 and, like you, I did not want to get it resized because I was worried about the summer/salty meals. I did the whole “shake your hand and see if it falls off” thing and it never did, so I figured it was just “a little bit” too big.

I finally decided to take it to a jeweler to get his opinion in he ended up taking it down to just below a size 5- and it still feels kind of loose. I would have never guessed based on the way it originally fit that it was 3/4 of a size too big, but it fits WAY more comfortably right now and sits normally on my finger.

I would say that if it’s really spinning and doesnt sit in position on your finger, it’s more than 1/4 size too big.

(And sorry for the Too Much Information, but my weight can fluctuate over 10 lbs in a single day due to salt/water retention, so I definitely “get it” about not wanting to downsize too much.)
