My fiance recently proposed with my dream ring from Anna Sheffield. At the time (over 6 months ago) when we were looking I was very much concerned with my future engagement ring being set too high. I was worried about having a “ring pop” type of look. My sweet fiance took this into account and customized my ring to be set lower.
Unfortunately now though I am a little concerned that the ring is too low? (I feel beyond guilty saying this as I know he was just trying to tailor it to my wants). I guess when ring shopping there were a lot of things I was worried about I think due to a combination of things, I wanted to make sure it was perfect because it felt like such a a big investment and I was also very concerned with not wanting to stand out when I go back to Europe to visit family (In other words I was thinking a lot about what everyone else would think and not what I really wanted).
Don’t get me wrong it’s not drastically lower than the original setting but I’m worried it looks too short compared to the original and therefore detracts from the design, should I’ve just stuck with the original design? I’m wondering if it’s worth going back to the designer and asking them to raise it again? (I know this is such a minor thing and I do feel awful about sounding this ungrateful but would love some insight from others, I tend to get very caught up in the details)
Also note the orignal ring I’m comparing my ring to is .5 carats smaller than mine.

I much MUCH prefer your setting over the higher one. It looks more balanced. By the way, that setting is STUNNING! I wouldn’t change a thing.

Love your ring! I don’t think the setting is too low at all. I actually prefer it that way!

agreed! the original setting looks slightly smushed and the height of your ring looks perfect.

It looks great! I wouldn’t change a thing.

I like yours a lot better actually. The original looks like it has almost too much metal in the setting, where as yours flows better. Rather than just a band with the head popping out, yours looks more like it belongs. I wouldn’t change a thing personally.

you’re ring looks much better!!!

Definitely agree with everyone else on this one. Your ring is a zillion times more beautiful the way you have it set. Don’t change a thing!

Yours is much better! To me the lower the more beautiful. I also designed mine to sit low. It’s just asthetics but I like it more!

yeah it would be too high originally. love the remake

You will definitely appreciate the lower setting as it will catch on fewer things and not be so prone to bashing. I like your setting much, much better. It has more of a ” crown” feel to it. The other higher setting seems a bit awkward looking.

Thanks for sharing a pic of your ring! It’s beautiful! Is that your wedding band next to it? Asking because I was actually thinking about what to do for my wedding band and was worried about the gap but yours looks great!

Yours looks way better! I also prefer low settings and the original one you posted looks a little strange to me.

I agree. Low looks better and imo low is more practical as well. Beautiful ring btw. Congrats
