@rldouthat:  Of course! If you liked it and were happy with the color, it is more than acceptable. A lot of people prefer I-J-K diamonds because they are warmer.

@rldouthat:  Any color is acceptable as an engagement ring as long as you and your fiance love it. european cuts are beautiful and I think the color gives it a vintage, antique feel 🙂

@rldouthat:  I would do it, especially if you like yellow or rose gold. Antique cut, warmer diamonds look great in those metals!!

@rldouthat:  as long as you saw it in person and liked it, I would absolutely go for it! Did you take any pictures while you were there?

@rldouthat:  I was told by my jeweler that if the stone looks white to you then color doesnt matter but depends. What is the carat size?

@rldouthat:  I like J’s! Are you color sensitive?

Acceptable for whom? I personally wouldn’t choose a J colored diamond, as I am moderately color-sensitive and can start to see the yellow/champagne around the H-I range. Additionally, OECs can appear duller due to diminished light return. If these are things you prefer or would not bother you, then it should be fine.
