I’m in Australia & my fiancé was hesitant to purchase a ring from overseas, so we went with the only local company we have here. I viewed the style of ring & tried it on in person before my fiancé purchased it – I wanted something simple, medium-low set, with sidestones & 6-prong, so we chose this one together. When he purchased it he told me he requested a new one be made, rather than that ring be resized, so I would have one which only I had worn, which I thought was pretty special. Around 6 months later he popped the question – which I am overjoyed about! 🙂 – however I’m not totally in love with the ring. I’m not sure if it’s the design, or just the ring itself which has several minor flaws & doesn’t seem to be the same as I remember. I took pictures the first day I tried the design on, when I compare them with my ring I feel that the prongs aren’t spot on & it looks like they have been squished to fit the centre stone (7.5mm C&C F1 colourless) rather than holding the stone nicely upright. The prongs aren’t symmetrical from above, which they have blamed on it being hand finished. But it looks like the setting is slightly on a lean aswell. The platinum band is also not symmetrical, there’s a slight bend in it. My centre F1 is also audibly rattling in the setting, which they have offered to repair, but I’m still not convinced they got the whole thing right. The F1 also appears not to match the sidestones (Supernova Moissanite 2mm melee) in some lighting & they don’t really sparkle that much. The F1 also goes dark steely blue with a dark centre in some lights aswell. Had I known the H&A was available at the time I’d have requested it but I’m afraid it’s also too late. Please help me – am I being too was picky & OCD, or is this ring different or unacceptable? And what should I do?
Below are some pics trying to show what I mean – sorry if they have ended up huge! – the one of the original ring has the brown velvet background & the others are of my ring.
