I recently started a thread about this and it got like over 50 responses…click on me and you should find it. I went with Jewelers Mutual. Also learned that almost no company “cuts you a check” they will pay the jeweler you go with directly. There are a few companies that offer the “cutting a check” option but everyone said that this option is very very $$$$$

I previously had a rider added on to my Renters/Homeowners – It was around $100 per year and covered my set for $2k more than what I paid for it!

lovealways:  +1 your thread was super helpful! I actually got my ring insured through them as well just over the weekend!

OP, just so you know using jewelers mutual I have an annual premium of $297. Of course depending on the price of your ring, the price of the insurance can go up or down 🙂

I added it on to my homeowners insurance. Costs me $64 every year. And covers the cost my ring was valued at ($1000 over what he actually paid). What the insurance will cover is what the ring is valued at, so your man could have paid more than the rings value or could have paid less
