I’ve seen the ring, and all in all, it isn’t THAT bad. The missing tulip? I never would have noticed. I didn’t even notice anything was wrong with the ring until you pointed it out, and even then, I had to look really closely.

If you’re not happy, see if someone else will fix it. If not, then oh well. Show it to your Fiance and she what she says about it. I get that it’s an engagement ring and it’s supposed to be perfect, but there’s no need to be that nit picky.

The roughness of the scrollwork would bother me more than the missing tulip, but i agree that the scrollwork is not correctly placed and there was no reason to move it based on the change needed.

I would not be pleased with a ring with that kind of craftmanship. It looks like an apprentice did it. The attention to detail is just horrible. It does not remotely look professional or “perfect” in any way. I would demand every red cent back and stand outside their door and show every person who was about to walk in there what they call “perfect”.

That scrollwork is ROUGH. And their excuses are moot. If they can’t “fix” the ring without affecting its structural integrity, then they should start over from scratch.

I hope you can get your money back and take your business elsewhere, as Verragio and Creative Goldsmiths are plainly insulting your intelligence with their excuses and insisting that it’s “perfect” as is. So sorry you’re in this position, good luck!

Well, return the ring then, ask for your money back. The scrollwork was the the only thing that really looked off to me, but the lighting was dim in your pictures, and the ring looks angled.

This is part of the reason why I won’t be dealing with any big store. I’ll be dealing with a small, local, family owned jeweler when I get my ring.

yeah I finally figured out how to see the blog (the new post helped) and that looks more like a childs work then a professional.  Those are major differences and I would say that you have a breach of contract.  They didn’t provide what they said they would.  How long ago did you purchase it?   Do they have a return policy?  If not, can you refuse payment on your credit card or check to see if your credit card company has anything in place to help with this kind of thing?

I agree with @dodgercpkl: that taking them to small claims court for breach of contract is a possibility if they refuse to either make you the ring you paid for or give you a refund.

I am not your lawyer, and this is not legal advice. But I am barred in BC, and our small claims court is designed to be more easily utilized by unrepresented litigants. Here is the website: http://www.ag.gov.bc.ca/courts/small_claims/index.htm

I really hope it doesn’t come to that for you, because litigation is always a hassle. But if you have any questions about the process I’d be glad to give you more info.

@Mr.B: “Can they do that? Show you one thing and sell you something else and say “it’s final sale, I told you already.”

That’s not a viable defence to breach of contract if that’s what you’re asking. Breach of contract is not limited to cases where one party does not perform at all. It includes cases where there’s a significant difference between what was promised and what was delivered.

I agree that it’s not worth paying for a lawyer for your case. The beauty of small claims court is that you can represent yourself.
