Is it unheard of to have the ring bearer carry both the wedding band & e-ring, then be presented with both in the correct order during the ceremony?

I wore it. In fact, my husband put it on me, too.

I’m also curious about why there’s a switch!

michy604:  Traditionally the wedding ring is worn closest to the heart.

The custom of the third finger on your left hand being your ring finger originated in Egypt, where people believed the vein in that finger led directly to your heart. By placing the wedding ring on that finger, the groom ensures that both he and the ring are in the position closest to your heart.

I wore mine and then switched the bands after the ceremony.

Mine doesn’t fit on my right hand so I wore it on the left and when I handed my flowers to my Maid/Matron of Honor I also gave her my ring. I then took it back pop it on top and swapped them after the ceremony as I prefer the look that way. I liked the idea of him putting the ring on an empty finger rather than with the ering but there are no rules.

julies1949:  Thank you! I had no idea that was the reason. That’s rather sweet. Thanks for enlightening me. 🙂

I had my engagement ring on my left hand andduring  the ceremony he put the wedding band on top of my engagement ring.  After the ceremony, I switched it.

I liked having photos with my engagement ring and wedding band and I wear my grandmother’s diamond ring on my right hand so having the engagement ring on the right wasn’t an option.

I wore mine on the right hand during the ceremony and switched it over after!

My ring actually is a bit to big and fits on my middle finger perfectly.. I was going to resize it before the wedding but I think I might just leave it until afterwards so I don’t have to worry about this 😛
