I love it! I have a double halo and size 5 finger and I love the finger coverage and sparkle it has. The ring you are purchasing has an even bigger centre stone than mine, so it will really be amazing on her finger. Here is what mine looks like:

I AM a fan of double halos & currently crushing on a couple myself. If this is her style, she’ll love it.

I think you did a great job picking out a ring to your girlfriend’s specifications!  She will love it!  Good luck and congrats!

Does she like huge rings? My friend has almost the same looking one as the first picture and loves it as far as I know. But I could never imagine wearing something that big all the time! Also what does she do for work? The second picture has a very dainty frame on it and looks like you would have to be very careful with it.

Im a stay at home mom and my ring doesn’t stick out (it’s a bezel set with a single halo) and I get it caught on things all the time.

If she loves the double halo look then go for it! I think the centre stone size you’re thinking of is perfect too, it will have a lot of sparkle and be fairly large but not too big!

I think if she’s obsessed with double halos, she’ll go nuts over that ring!  Every girl has their dream and if that is hers, then I think you did a fantastic job in choosing that one.  It’s beautiful!

rob1c :  You are seriously the cutest and sweetest right now.  With a man like you caring as much as you do, this girl is going to lead a very happy life.  It sounds like the man you are will bleed right into that ring and make it beautiful.

In my humble opinion, I would focus on the quality of the diamond, NOT the size.  With a halo, anything at 1 carat or above is all you need to make a woman with a 5.5 drool.  If you’re worried about the center competing, make sure you find a diamond with the best “cut” (i.e., excellent grade) you can afford.  That way it’ll sparkle on its own and not drown in the other diamonds.

If you want a double halo, make sure the diamonds surrounding the center stone are dainty, like frosting (but not so small they look like salt specks!).  With a single halo, you can go a little bigger with the surrounding stones, but I wouldn’t go much bigger.

Good luck and follow your intuition!  You know your lady, that’s very clear. ☺️

There are double halos I like, but the proportion of the one you posted is eating the main stone. The halo is 70-80% the width of the diamond. Also, if the center is round, then I’d stick with a round halo (if a cushion, go with cushion halo).  I’d ask LaurenB to adjust the halo proportions to much smaller relative to the center to look like this one, so the total halo width is no more than 50% the stone width. See how this draws attention to the center? See how the round halo and round diamond really flow? To me, this is double halo perfection {Leon Mege.

Also, I love that you are thinking of her taste in the setting, but your a going overkill on the diamond (assuming it is a GIA rated 1.2 ct center diamond – VVS2 quality Color G not EGL). Seriously, you do not need to buy a VVS2 – especially if you are going to set it into such a sparkly setting. The human eye, unaided by magnification, can not see flaws down to GIA/AGS VS2 (and often SI1). If the stone is not GIA or AGS graded, it is not a VVS2 — it is more like a VS1-2, H/J/K.

For reference…both of these diamonds will be stunning and are cut to perfection. You can also post your specs over on Pricescope and they will help you find a stunning diamond.  I would personally buy a High Performance diamond for modern cuts at they extroidanary and I’d just ask [email protected] or David Klass to make the setting.

http://highperformancediamonds.com/shop/diamonds/HPD8800/?shop=yes, $10,016 {probably my top choice for lower color diamonds if you need to lower the cost. The cut makes Js look G}

Oh and the center stone in that halo I posted above? GIA 0.77, J color, VS1 clarity {Table: 55%
Depth: 62.1%, Crown: 34, Pavilion: 40.8}. Even super magnified that GIA stone is amazing.
