@Missa273:  It’s a good size, looks very nice on your fingers.

Don’t change what you love just because someone is jealous!!!

Looks wonderful! If you love it, that’s all that matters.

That friend is rude. Period.

Your ring is beautiful, and if people judge you by the ring, then there’s a pretty good chance that means they havent’ had any other interaction with you.  If you aren’t snotty or spoiled, it will be evident after they talk to you.  And if they never get that far, then that means they aren’t part of your life, so who cares what they think?

Don’t let rude people take away your excitement and love for your ring.

If you love it, that’s all that matters.  That was such a rude comment.  Some people are just jealous or tactless.  I think it’s beautiful.  Don’t worry about people like that!

I think it looks awesome!! I’ve had similar issues which have made me self conscious of my ring.  My ring is a 3 stone emerald ring that has a 1.8 ct center stone and .4 side stones.  It was my FI’s grandmother’s ring and I LOVE IT!! But when everyone first saw my ring they couldn’t stop commenting on the size.  One friend even had my other friend who recently got engaged hold hers up to it so she could gawk how much bigger mine was and it made me feel HORRIBLE!!  I always worry that people are making assumptions about how much my Fiance must have spent on it, so whenever I show people I tell them it was his grandmother’s.  If it makes you feel better maybe you can tell people what a great deal you got because its vintage?

@Missa273:  If someone decides to think you’re snotty and superficial based on a single piece of jewelry you wear then I think that says a whole lot about their own lack of character and points to their downright negative and jealous personality. Do you really want to make sure someone like that isn’t offended by your ring? Cause it sounds like they’re looking for excuses to put others down.

P.S. It’s gorgeous, perfect, and not too big.

Well, just over 1ct is not that big.  Mine is just barely over 1ct and some people think it’s big, some people remark how it sparkles, and some people look at me like “oh, that’s nice.”

Own it, wear it, screw ’em.

No, actually I think it’s quite proportional. To be fair, sizing does vary based on area/location, but in general, I think it looks great!
