@s.khodir:  Your link is broken for me so I can’t see your ring Frown But it looks like Kay’s has a 60 day return policy for online (and in store) orders. Does the diamond come with a certificate (like GIA or EGL)? If so you may have a better idea of what you’re going to get in terms of inclusions, color and cut.

@s.khodir: Honestly, I think it’s a bit gaudy. Sorry. That may just be how it looks online, but especially if you’re not in a culture of big engagement rings it might look a little out of place.

If you’re not engaged yet, do you know that you’ll be able to pick your own ring?

@s.khodir: Make sure your boyfriend’s aware that you want to pick your own ring or he might try to be romantic and pick one for you.

@s.khodir: well said!

OP- I’ve gotten stuff from Kay’s before, but I really can’t remember what paper work came with, I’m sure if anything my SO has it in our safe or something, but hes not here for me to ask. the 60 day return policy is great though, seems like most of the places I’ve seen online only do 30 days.

Can you possibly look for your own diamond and then work with a jeweller to come up with a design you like or have him replicate the one from Kay Jewellers? I’m sure with the money you would pay at a jewellery store, you could find a diamond with better specs and have the ring made to your liking. Good Luck! 🙂

I think the ring you chose is beautiful! It may look gaudy in the picture but it says it’s only a 1 1/2 carat total weight. Most of that is probably the halos. I say go for it. Kay has a return policy and I’m pretty sure they have one of those lifetime warranty plans so if anything happens to it, you can get it fixed easily.
