@s.khodir: It’s a lot of ring, but it kind of reminds me of the Tiffany Soleste . If you like it, I’d say contact them and make sure that there are no loop holes in their return policyn (just in case), see if they’ll issue you some kind of certificate and order it! It doesn’t sound like having a custom ring made is a good option where you live, but that would definitely be a good way to make sure the diamonds are top quality. But Kay’s is a pretty popular jeweler here (I see their commercials ALL.THE.TIME. haha) so I think you’ll be safe in that regard. Congrats on your engagement!!

My ring and my fiancé’s were both ordered online, from different websites with 30 day return policies. Not from Kay’s, mind you, but I just wanted you to know we had success! And neither of the companies we ordered from are based in Canada, so they were both international transactions. We didn’t have to return anything because we’re satisfied with the rings so I can’t comment on that part!

And I think the ring you chose looks similar to 50% of the rings posted in the ring boards, so I don’t know why the “gaudy” comments are coming out! There’s nothing wrong with loving the bling. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My rings aren’t from Kay, but they are from blue nile, which is only online. I love my rings, and I have other jewelry I love from blue nile, too. Their prices tend to be cheaper than other places if they have what you want. You might want to check it out!

Kay has a good reputation, though, so I’m sure it is fine to order from them.

I LOVE this ring!!! I’ve seen it in person and it is spectacular…you will not be disappointed…when you wear it in the sun it looks like your finger is glowing!!! Seriously one of the sparkliest rings I’ve ever seen and I LOVE sparkle!!! Get it!!! Also, Kay jewelers is a very reputable company, there will not be any visible flaws in your ring…GOOD LUCK!!!

@s.khodir: haha no no no i don’t think it looks huge at all. i have a simple solitaire so it’s very different to me and i’ve just never seen the double halo in person. I totally understand your hesitation to order something so important without seeing it first. I think there are a few bees with the Tiffany Soleste…so that may give you an idea what it would look like?

Great ring, the only thing is that with halo’s, especially with the Neil Lane line form kay’s the diamonds tend to fall out like crazy! One of my best friends got a neil Lane halo ring and she had to take it in 7 different times to get the diamonds put back in after they kept falling out of the halo and the band. She traded it in for a Tolkowsky solitare and loves it and has had NO trouble with it at all!

Because you do not have a Kay’s jewler anywhere near you, I would try hard to stay away from rings with a lot of diamonds in them, just in case. Because if you have to sendyour ring to the U.S. everytime a diamond falls out, you may have to go weeks without your ring!

Also with the clairty and color, those are things you have to see for yourself. They make SI diamonds that are very eye clean, but the one you order may not be. Or the second or the third.

Good luck in your search!

My cousin got her princess cut halo split-shank ring from kays and it glitters and sparkles like crazy! there are 72 diamonds in it (she counted them all lol). I do not believe she had a diamond fall out…but its only 4 months old. I think the only thing you are buying with Niel lane is the name. the diamonds might sparkle a little bit more, but they have to reduce the quality somewhere else to get it at a retail price point that will make a profit for them. As another bee said earlier, kays will replace stones if they fall out, but since you are in Egypt it does not sound practical. You can always ask your local jewler in your area what the cost would be to have a stone or two replaced. maybe show him the picture you uploaded. If it cost $100 (complete guess) and you only have a stone or two fall out over the course of a few years, then it might be worth it to purchase from kays. My suggestion to you is try bluenile.com or brilliantearth.com since those are both ecommerce retailers.
