I’d say go on Etsy and look for vintage or handmade rings. There are some really unique and interesting rings on there!

also, what about esty?

this one is simple but pretty and unique.

and this is pretty amazing.

and this one is a lot pricier but maybe more your style?

also… if you’re thinking of passing off a non-diamond as diamond…why not get a pink or yellow stone and call it a pink or canary diamond?

I know you were thinking about going moissianite, but what about maybe Asha? Ashadiamonds.com has like…a bagillion settings, and the prices are pretty reasonable, including an asha center stone, which tend to be more whiter, and do not have a green/yellow tint that some moissanite’s can have.

I made a wish list there, like 3 of them! All the settings are really pretty and interesting. Good luck on your search!

I second (or third, I lost track) looking at Etsy. Just make sure you read the reviews before you buy.

I would go to a custom jeweler.  That’s what we did and it ended up being way cheaper than even a Zales and much higher quality.  The jeweler we used asked my fiance what my job was, my sign, my interests and personality and he designed something AMAZING!  I swear if I was able to pick out any ring, it would have been the one I received (and I’m the only one to have it so it makes it that much more special).

I would at least get some quotes….. you might be surprised! 🙂

My soon-to-be-fiance and I have been looking at conflict-free diamonds at http://www.brilliantearth.com and you can shop around for your oun price range, cut and setting! Also, I don’t how you feel about the celts, but since my fiance was born in Scotland, I’m buying his wedding band from http://www.uniquecelticweddingrings.com. They hand-make the rings in Ireland and they’re beautiful! Also, we were going to design our own ring. Most jewlery stores will do this, just ask! You make a design, give them a prince range and they make a wax model and work with you to make sure that it’s what you want and you stay within your price range. I would’ve totally done it if it didn’t scare me so much not to see the finished ring before buying it. Good luck!
