Mr B & I are lucky to be surrounded by talented people. And quite a few of those people include some highly capable photographers! When we first became engaged, we hired a friend of mine/budding-photographer, to take our pictures at Pike Place Market. Beautiful photos. That would be Take 1.
Take 2 occured when a co-worker of mine acquired some very expensive camera equipment from her mom, and just had to take us out. It was October in Seattle and we were blessed by the Sun Gods to have GLORIOUS weather. So we hit up my home town, and were photographed at the ever-scenic Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend, WA (ch-ch-check it out!) as well as the historic Snoqualmie Railroad Museum & Train Graveyard in Snoqualmie, WA. Needless to say, those photos were incredible as well.
Mr B is from Hawaii, and we have been blessed enough to have take several trips over the last few years to visit his family and friends. Mr B, also a highly capable photographer, took his sister and her brood out for a Ko’Olina family photo shoot. While we were out there, his sister (and my amazing Matron-of-Honor) offered to take a few photos of us. WHY NOT, right? Clear, blue waters. Crisp waves. Puffy white clouds. The scenery was perfect. And it all would have gone down without a hitch had my fiance had his eyes open in a single pic. Mr B: “It’s too bright! I can’t see anything!”. My replies were along the lines of “Suck it up!”.
And que Take 4
We had become extremely interested in a local Seattle photographer: Jenny G.G. (jennygg.com). Due to a change of wedding date, we were unable to reserve the services of this amazing photographer. Fortunately for us, her assistant photographer, the equally-talented Ms. Jen Wade, was available. After going over her portfolio, I KNEW we had to have her. And she was generous enough to give us a free engagement session (SCORE!). So Mr B and I cruised down to Georgetown and were blown away at the fun session we had with Jen. The pictures were equally as fun.
As we are a couple paying for our own wedding, I can only thank my lucky stars for the amazing opportunities we have had to have such incredible photos taken.
So for your viewing pleasure, here are pics from Takes 1-4. Pay no attention to my ever-changing head of hair. Those who know me can attest to my lack of attention on anything for more than 5 minutes.
