As we are having a small wedding with not a lot of time to plan and a small budget, we had decided not to get engagement pictures taken. When my brother heard this (he’s a graphic designer who does amateur photography for a hobby) he offered to do some pics for us.
We agreed and we did the shoot. I am quite pleased with the pictures but I wanted to ask for opinions. I really quite love these shots and as we do not have a large budget for the wedding I was wondering if this style would be good enough for the reception and boudoir shots. I do have a professional photographer who is willing to do just the ceremony.
Edit: I do not mean boudoir shots apparently I mean something else, before the wedding, pre wedding, getting ready….something else
What do the bees think? Here are some of the shots he took

I think he would probably do fine during the reception but do you want your brother to not be able to hang out and have fun during the reception?
Also I wouldn’t have my brother doing boudior pictures of me.

I think the pictures look good, but I wouldn’t want my brother spending my whole wedding day taking photos. If he’s busy taking photos, he can’t really “enjoy” the day and take part in all the special moments. And I’d also feel extremely uncomfortable with my brother taking boudior photos for me.

hahahaha. we already discussed this and we’re just going to get ones of the girls doing hair and makeup etc, some in our dresses before the wedding. nothing he wouldnt want to see or that I would be uncomfortable with. Maybe I should have said pre-wedding not boudoir i just never know what to call them
As for the reception, i told him my concerns as i want him to enjoy his day but I do have a couple of his friends who are very similar in talent to him taking some shots, he just wants to do some as well. We will not be getting many posed photgraphs and he can mingle as well as take pics. (this is what he told me) so it’s not so much a question of logistics and propriety. I”m just wondering if they are good enough and if I will regret not having a professional do the reception as well…
