I am doing my engagment photos this weekend, and also hoping for snow so we can do shots outside. Do you have a nice winter coat? I am just wearing a pair of dark denim skinny jeans, boots, my long wool coat with a high collat from H&M, and my white scarf and mittens. I decided not to wear a hat. I’m kinda glad will hopefully be outside, because I don’t have a clue what to wear if they are inside… guess I better work on that 😉

So my vote: Lovely coat, if you don’t already own one!

here are some fashionable yet timeless pieces you can look into getting

peacoat, dark wash bootcut jeans, ballet flats, white dress shirt, v-neck sweater, pearl necklace.

those are all timeless staples that can be mixed with other things to create your own look.

check your local department store, look at what the manequins are wearing.  also Target is very fashionable for their prices!

Also Old Navy has some pretty great stuff you can wear. I’d go on the classic side, like @jwinnings suggested.

Or H&M if there’s one nearby. 🙂

Or if you want to wear something funky, I can suggest stuff for that too. Though this is coming from the person who wore hot pink tights and ran around with rainbow paper cranes for their e-shoot. :p

Oh, it was!

They’re up on my bloggy-poo: http://www.iloveyoumuch.com/wordpress

Fiance was a good sport. I had him in neon blue socks for shoe shots. :p

Check out the LOFT if you can.  They’ve got to a lot of great stuff right now and I found myself gravitating to the really deep, dark purple hues – probably because I am also usually wearing gray & black.  They also have some cute, chunky jewelry that can dress up even your favorite black top (think close up!).

@Valhalla — our engagement pics are in a couple of weeks, and I’m wearing pretty much the same outfit — dark jeans, boots, long wool coat, & NO hat b/c for some reason hats never look good on me.

I agree with 50 that Old Navy or H&M will both have some great looking clothes for pretty cheap 🙂

I happen to be home in Cincinnati for the break also. Nighttime shoot– have you considered going across the river to Newport and shooting with the Cincinnati skyline across the river? It’s a great view!
