I have not encountered this before, but I am a corporate lawyer. (disclaimer: this should not be considered legal advice; you should consult a lawyer where you reside)

It sounds like you discussed everything orally. Was any of it in writing? do you have any emails that state what it was that you expected from her? This would be the key to determining what you have a legal right to without additional cost.

The rights of the photos belong to her and she can use them as she please unless you have a license agreement requesting exclusive use by you and your hubby. whether is is right for her to charge an additional $850 depends on what you have written down. You said originally, you would have gotten one album of photos… do you have the list sheet with that information? If this is something that you do want to take to court, that is proof that this was the only album requirement to recieve all of your pictures.

As for the electronic posting, you should ask her for her policy on photographs. Was it clear from any of your communication that it was customary for her to post ALL photos electronically? Is so, you can state that she is now withholding the electronic versions because she wants to extort you for more money!

The disc is a lost issue. If that is not something that was on the price sheet and isnt something that she does, she can charge you extra for that. Does the price sheet (and i say price sheet because thats the only tangible writing/agreement you have) say anything about a digital version of the photos for a wedding? If yes, then thats your argument for recieving a cd or electronic copy.

I am sorry that this is happening to you, but the best revenge is to get the word out that she is a scum bag photographer who will take your money and not give you what you agree on. every outlet that you can post on you should. and she cant claim defamation, slander or libel because this is factual!!! and factual reviews dont amount to such! I hope everything works out!

sidebar: if you have a copy of the pricesheet and feel comfortable posting it, please do so… I would like to see it!
