    As long as you are still engaged and the wedding is not planned to be set for a date within the next 6-8 months you’re in the clear.

    I wouldn’t host your own party. If someone offers to throw one for you, that would be fine.

    You’ve been engaged for two years, so IMO yes, it is too late to have an engagement party.

    I think engagement parties should be held within 6 months of the engagement becoming official – any longer then that I find it…irrelevant I guess.

    But that’s just my opinion.

    It’s not too late. BTW, we’ve been engaged 2.5 years, but still don’t have a date.

    An engagement party is to celebrate a couple getting engaged, not being engaged .So yes 2 years after the fact is way too late to be throwing a party.

    It is kind of like throwing a birthday party 9 months after your birthday.
