We want to just go out and celebrate with some close friends, maybe around 15 people max. I guess it would be kinda like and engagment party because it would be the reason we are gathering, but.. not really in the traditional sense of word. We don’t want gifts, no cake or anything. Just us and our friends going out to a lounge for some celebratory drinks. And we don’t really want to pay for EVERYONES drinks. We wouldn’t mind paying for a round for everyone or something like that. BUT I’ve heard you can’t host your own engagment party, you have to pay for everything if you invite people to celebrate. etc. etc. Would it be completely tacky to send out an email to these friends and invite them to come out and celebrate while not paying for everything? how is this different than going out for a persons birthday? I always end up paying for myself at those functions… any ideas on wording. Thanks!
