My engagment ring is 1.5mm wide (white gold). Would it be okay for my wedding band to be 2-3mm wide (wood)? I am not sure exactly how wide it will be. I am waiting to hear back from the guy making it. I know I am already throwing off “tradition” by having a white gold e-ring and a wooden w-band. I just don’t know about width :

I don’t think the difference in width matters, it can be whatever size you want! It’s your finger, wear what you like!

I posted on your last topic with my 1.5mm gold e ring and 2.3mm wood/gold ring….
You said that the guy only went as thin as 3mm… is that the size your getting? I think 2mm to maybe 2.5mm would be ok with a 1.5mm but 3mm you may not be happy with.
I feel like my 2.3 is a little too wide with my e-ring sometimes.

I think it will be fine. My engagement ring is about 2mm and my wedding band is 3.5. It’s not everyone’s taste, but if you like it, it’ll look fine.

Personally I LOVE it when the wedding band is wider than the engagement ring. Mine is. I feel like that emphasizes the importance of it, because marriage is more important than being engaged. I think it looks better too because it looks intentional. When both bands are the same it looks lopsided to me, like it’s trying to be symmetrical but it’s not.

I think it will be fine. My mom has a wide wedding band (4 -5 mm) with a narrow solitaire, and I think it looks nice. If you’re worried, go to a jewelry store and try on the same width gold wedding band as the one you’re looking at. You’ll be able to judge the proportions on your hand.

I think it would look great, but won’t the metal ring wear down the wood? Or does it have a metal outside?

it’ll be fne. My band is skinnier than my e ring and they look great together

Those bands are pretty cool. Do you know how they hold up over time? I’m just curious 🙂
