Any ideas of how i can make my wedding personal?
I live in England and having my wedding in sorrento, Italy. We decided to go abroad to cut our numbers down on the guest list.
We obviously are flying over and I have no idea how to make it personal on a budget?
Was thinking of having photographs of family members on their wedding day (couples that have lasted a long time!) Like my Fiances parents, Grandparents etc… That was my first idea but its difficult. We have a wedding planner but i have no other ideas.
My bridesmaid dress colour is Ocean blue Satin knee length. My dress is Ivory Satin and the boys are going for deep blue suits… HELP!

I got married on the Amalfi Coast, it is harder to make it personal when you have limited baggage allowance. I did your idea, i used photos of family on their wedding day and hung them around the recpetion venue on the trees with little wooden pegs.
We also had a sort of wishing tree, i used card butterlies (from ebay) and put ribbons on them and people could write messages on and hang them from the lemon tree as we had an outside reception within the lemon grove.
You could, if you hired a car you could buy a few bits from Ikea in Naples (quite near the airport) like lanterns and candles, just to add your own touch. You could name tables after places in England that are special to you – just a few ideas.
if you need a photographer i know i great one – http://www.myphotosbyrenee.com/Events/Weddings she is called Renee and is an American living in Naples.

carolineepo: Thank you for your response.
We were thinking about flying a photographer out to Italy for a few days as the prices we were given are crazy!! If you dont mind me asking, how much was your photography?
The information on IKEA is awesome, think we will prob do that. We are already renting a car so its perfect. We are off to see the venue come Autumn time. ITs going to be the first time we have physically seen the venues we have chosen! eeek….

I have this same issue! We’re having our wedding in Florence and with 3 plane rides to get there from SC, we can’t bring much in the way of decor. IE–nothing but place cards and Out of Town bags. What can we do about decor??

I am getting married in Greece and have the same issue. I am going to bring fabric to drape, and add flowers and candles from local stores (carrefour is what I am looking for) I am also going to bring labels for water, and favours.
As to honour family, you could load a digitial picture frame (s) and bring them over and do a cute display/slide show.
It is sooo tough!

Sorry its taken ages to reply, Weddingbee locked me out of my account. I’m doing a Guest tree (fingerprint tree ~I’ve purchased of Etsy), Recently came back from a north american road trip- whilst in Chicargo on Navy Pier we had my new surname made into a awesome bit of art and framed (i have the name if you wanna look at a webpage). Its amazing!! I’m having sugared almonds (its tradition in italy) and im just taking the bags/boxes. Gonna have our Ipod playing.
I love the idea of a digital photo frame!! Keep up the idea thinking xx

@camelina65: The guy that did our name in a frame was amazing!! It fits in a suitcase is light weight and a massive gesture. My hubby to be is loving it even said he wants to hang it when we get home….. I’m gonna have it on a table with candles and the guest book. xx
