- Wedding: March 2017
We were surprised with our pro pics yesterday less than 4 weeks after our wedding day – sorry for so many!
After a rather stressful final 3 months of planning with new jobs and a big move it all came together beautifully on the day – truly the most wonderful day of our lives. We even had the most beautiful weather – at this point in England you usually still need coats and scarves!
It was a traditional British church wedding at the church I was Christened at in my hometown. Luckily I got all my tears our during the rehersal! Afterwards we were pelted with confetti and walked through the city gardens to our reception venue 5 minutes away. We stopped for photos enroute but took very few posed photos which suited us all really well. We caught some of our drinks reception then straight into a 3 course wedding breakfast with loads of local produce. I was so pleased with how all the decor came together in the beautiful ballroom – so glad my vision translated well! Our favours were daffodils grown by my in-laws.
We sneaked off for a few more photos at sunset then it was time for speeches which were so moving and hilarious. Our evening guests then joined us for cake cutting and the first dance. At that point my brain was so relived that the pressure was off that everything after is just a blur! We had a fab 10-piece band who kept the dance floor packed and my venue co-ordinator said he’d never seen a bride dance so muh. At the end of the night we escaped and walked to our hotel getting loads of attention from people on their Saturday night out in town.
I’d love to relive it 10 times over but am loving the slower pace of maried life after the craziness of planning.
