I love the idea of engravings on wedding and/or e-rings but I have a question. What are your thoughts on having my name on the outside of his ring and his on the outside of my wedding band? He’s told me that he doesn’t want to take it off once it’s on, so what’s the point of doing it on the inside, right? Plus, I like the idea of being able to twist the ring and see our name. What do you think? Is it just stupid??

hhmmmm… I guess it would depend on the ring style and the thickness/decoration of the band. I like the idea of a message to him, just for him on the inside of his ring. Ultimately though, it’s about whatever you both like and makes you happy 🙂

I think that’s a nice idea, as long as it goes with the ring and doesn’t take away from it.

I wanted engraving done on mine but not on the inside, so I actually had it engraved on the side, that way I could have it facing in if I wanted it closer to my heart or on the outside if I wanted to show it off. It had to be hand engraved because of the width but totally worth it.
I say go for it with engraving on the outside like the other posters said as long as it doesn’t take away from the style of ring/decoration.

I love this idea!!! If I knew this earlier (or thought about it earlier) I wouldve done our wedding bands the same way. lol

@njm1313: Thank you 🙂 You could always do it if you ever get an upgrade…

@marlew: Thanks! I love your rings, very different writting. 🙂

I say if you want it on the outside then do it! I do love the idea of engraving on the side though! But you have to do what’s going to make you happy – it’s your ring so do what you’re going to love, as you’re the one wearing it, and that’s all that matters!

I like it, is on the side. I would off never thought of that idea. It’s pretty cool. 🙂

I like the suggestion to have it done on the side like the pic posted by Marlew

I kind of like the idea of having it on the outside, but it is unusual so you might get some flack for it from severe traditionalists. I say go for it!
