I’d get his name and email address so that if he ever loses it the person who finds it can return it (and, ps, people really do return things sometimes… if they can).

I would suggest not engraving it. If you ever want to sell it at some point down the line, you won’t be able to. An iPad isn’t really something to personalize, even though they offer the service.

ETA: I just told Darling Husband about this thread and he said that you could have an issue exchanging it if there happens to be an issue with the device. What about getting him a nice leather case for it instead and personalizing that?

Are you looking for cute/funny or romantic?

I’ve seen some funny ones like “I’m yours forever, and now this is too”

I agree with not engraving it. I honestly think apple does that free so that their devices are harder to resell.

We got “our” song ‘I’m Yours’ and the day we started dating- so it says “I’m Yours since 25/02/09” (or is it 02/25/09? too lazy to check) then a – then initials of the other person. Now we realized it’s dumb if we ever want to sell them, so we didn’t engrave our iPads. I still like what we got engraved though. Why not a special date and his name? If you can think of something funny, those are good too 🙂
