I didn’t think there was a way to enhance moissanite without doing the amora or FB treatment? ?

@sweetdee522:  From what I remember, and please if I’m wrong someone correct me, is that there are/were different ways of enhancing the gem. Amora was new and different when I was looking into moissanites and that was quite a long time ago so I really can’t remember.

Mine is enhanced – I got it before the “amora” process was used by moissaniteco and it’s plenty white and sparkly, as a moissanite should be. No funky colors. But from what I can tell, ANY moissanite you get, unenhanced, enhanced, amora, or FB is going to take on some colors depending on lighting, etc. It’s the nature of the stone.

I would order both from different places with great return policies and compare them 🙂 I love the unenhanced in round cut but prefer FB in a pear. I think you have to see it for yourself to decide what speaks to you 🙂

What kind of enhancement does the stone have? Is it a coating from Serenity labs or a heat process that is permanent? I would think if it is just a coating, the stone would be cheaper since it is not a permanent treatment.

If it is the old Serenity enhancement, it is permanent, as long as the stone is not heated above 1020F or polshed on the underside…so just be careful when having it repronged and always tell your jeweler it is a coated stone.

Is the stone you bought returnable?  If so, no harm in checkin’ it out first and seeing if you love it.  The FB or Amora will be whiter, but depending on the cut.  An RB might look really similar, whereas a pear or radiant would look a lot beter with the newer enhancement, imo.

Schubachs has the FB too, so there are lots of options on where to buy it.  🙂

Please don’t take offense but I can see a huge difference between the real diamond and the mossianite in the pics you just posted. Sorry to say it but I would not buy that style of mossianite, looks like costume jewerly, the stone reflects alot of yellow. I’d wait until the better stones are available.

i think the lighting is making all of the stones look yellow… and i do see that in my amora enhanced moissy in certain lights, and it’s just something you get used to and eventually love. i really do love catching my ring reflect different colors, since most of the time it is quite white.  i think the serenity enhanced stone would be okay, but i do think moissyco will be restocking amora rounds sometime soon. (could have read their posts wrong on BTD though so sorry if i did!)

I really don’t see the difference between the diamond and the moissy.

I’ve actually never seen/noticed this before in other comparisons of moissy to diamonds, but the moissy looks FOGGY.. am I the only one picking up on that??
