I was going to go with the regular enhanced to save my bf some money. But they have actually discontinued those stones. They are no longer available. I found out on the moissaniteco site last night. Our only options now are regular moissy or Mira.

i’m not sure if you know, but the $300 is just for the upgrade..you still have to pay separately for the actual stone. sorry if you already knew this..i just wanted to make sure you knew what the total price will be!

the $360 is just for the upgrade, you have to also add the stone separately.

the website says, “To upgrade the Moissanite center stone on the item you are purchasing, please add the item to your shopping cart (ring, loose stone, etc.) and add the corresponding upgrade fee to your cart as well. The Mira upgrade fee is $180 per carat.”

so you have to actually add the loose stone to your cart as well. for a 2ct, it would be $680 for the loose stone, PLUS the additional $360 for the Mira upgrade. you can add the loose stone here: http://www.moissaniteco.com/loose_stones3.html

hope that helps!!

I phoned Charles & Covard to ask them this question.  First, MIRA is not a trademark of Charles & Covard.  It is a treatment process that is applied to a Moissanite and once it is applied, the warranty for moissanite is voided by the manufacturer.  Charles & Covard told me this is because there are no long term studies on this treatment.

Secondly, I notice that some web sites will compare moissanite to VVS quality or VS quality.  I also asked the Charles & Covard representative about this.  I asked them directly if I can buy more than one quality stone from them.  They said there is no VS or VVS quality.  They only certify the stones to a VG quality.

I am asking these questions because a stone chipped in a ring that my jeweler made.  I need to replace the stone.  I noted to the C&V customer service person that the jeweler is going to order a stone from Stuller distributor in Lafayette, LA.  She said that Stuller stones are VG grade, as are all stones that they sell to their distributors.

I did learn something new…The refraction or brilliance is the only thing waranteed.  If a stone chips, this is not waranteed.

So, i don’t know if having the MIRA coating or heat treatment improves the reflectance or is worth voiding the warranty.

Good luck.  Hope this helps.

Maybe you can all help me with this!  I am new here and I want to order a wedding ring set from moissainiteco and want the mira stone instead of regular moissy.  I don’t see how I can upgrade.  Am I having a blonde moment?  If anyone can help I would be thrilled!  This is the ring set I want

Go to the MoCo website then in the search box type “Mira” clicOnondaga the option. Acrill to the bottom of the page and find the Sri e shape and size you want the click “add to cart” button. So in your cart you will have a pick or ykur wedding, AND a pic of an unset stone (that’s the stone upgrade). Hope that helps! Merry Christmas!

Just to give you an idea, this is a 1.25carat Amora (same as Mira…just renamed) in the sunlight coming through the window on a snowy day.  This is actually the most color or yellow in it that I’ve ever noticed.  On overcast days, mine doesn’t really cast any color, it just doesn’t sparkle as much.  I hope this helps! Sorry that I don’t have an unenhanced for comparison.
