I love my fiance, but he is driving me mental. We’re getting married in August and having a small wedding (60 people) and we’re not a touchy-feely couple or have touchy-feely family. SO there are no speeches (apart from me saying thank you and maybe something from our MC) and guests will be sitting around twiddling their thumbs until music begins after dinner. Most weddings I’ve been to have had some small kind of entertainment to fill in the time between courses, so I thought a cute stop-motion film around 2 minutes long would be nice to play, made from our own photos (already existing photos). My fiance hates the idea of “being in anything” like a video, or even having photos in a video. He also hated my idea of filming a silent film (like they did in the 1920s) of our life so far together.
SO! I’m out of ideas and begging for some help. Our wedding will have a vintage travel feel, and we’ll have a trivia quiz for each table to play, but other than this, I don’t have any more ideas up my sleeve to entertain guests before we get to the dancing. Please help before I kill my fiance!!

OK, first, calm down. Keeping your guests entertained is not worth saying anything about killing your Fiance.
For the most part, your guests will entertain themselves. As long as there is good music, not a huge gap in between courses, and good food, they will be fine. If your Fiance doesn’t want a video, then don’t force it. It is his wedding too! For most of my family, it’s been a long time since they’ve seen each other, so having a wedding is a great chance to talk in person!

Adults are able to entertain themselves for a few minutes between meal courses. That is the time for people to go to the bathroom, fix their hair, chat with friends/family.
I am also not into games, slide shows or videos at weddings (proviso, unless you are my BFF, and I know all the stuff from the videos, etc). I like to socialize and talk to lots of different people. Even at weddings when I didn’t know anyone, I wouldn’t have liked playing a game or watching anything.
