I’m upset 🙁
I ordered my gorgeous Enzoani Erin March 2nd, and the store estimated it would be here the beginning of June. Okay, great! I called at the end of May, getting excited, only to find that the new estimated ship date was end of June, hopefully getting here beginning to middle of July. Disappointing, but reasonable! Now I called back today, thinking FINALLY I would get to see it again, but my heart sank when the peppy shipping lady announced a ship date of….wait for it….AUGUST 29th. I’m heartbroken, and totally lost trust in Enzoani. Now I’m terrified I’ll call again in August, convinced this time it’ll finally be here, only to find its been pushed back several more months. To make it worse, the shipping lady said there’s no guarantee that exact thing wont happen, and I’m not even allowed to contact the manufacturer, only they are! 🙁
Well, to be honest, at first I was sad, and then I tried to keep from ripping her head off. She couldn’t tell me why the ship date was pushed back, but she speculated that it could be because the manufacturer was behind, or perhaps because my wedding date is next june. Now wait a minute! I ordered my dress in March because I didnt want to deal with shipping issues 🙁 Should I have to lie about my wedding date, just to save myself the heartache of waiting forever for an uncertain arrival date?
Plus, I’ve lost 8% of my body weight since I ordered my dress, because I was in between sizes and the lady thought I could DEFINITELY lose the inch or two before it came. At the time I felt good about the decision, but now I’m having nightmares that even with the 15 pounds I’ve lost, I wont fit in the smaller dress when it comes 🙁
Has anyone else had this experience with Enzoani? 🙁 Any ideas on how to make the waiting easier?

It sucks to be waiting and waiting:( is your wedding date on here correct though? If it is I really wouldn’t start freaking out just yet! Just deep breaths and remind yourself that you have lots of time and it will get here!

My Enzoani took about 5 months and the estimated ship date got pushed back a month and then completely surprised me when it arrived early.
Try to be patient. It will come in and it will be spectacular.

That makes me feel a little better 🙁 I do have time, but its the trust thing to me. If I pay thousands of dollars for a hunk of fabric and they tell me it’ll be here on X day, I’m a little disappointed when X day just keeps on changing… 🙁

@Mashiara: Actually i am surprised you were given an actual day. I was given a general idea of when and then they called when it arrived.
I think 5-8 months is average so you’re not at all in an unusual range. Don’t worry!

I am surprised that the salon gave you an original date that was fewer than four months from when you ordered the gown. As prior posters have noted, six to eight months is customary. Mine took five. I would not be at all concerned that your dress will not arrive on time for a June 2013 wedding.
Also, having the store insist that its personnel be the ones to contact the design house is standard. After all, you have purchased the dress from the retailer, not directly from the design house, which likely does not sell directly to or deal directly with consumers.
I would try to relax about the arrival date of your dress, since Enzoani is a respected name in bridal fashion, and because you have built in so much extra time for it to arrive and be altered.

Some places actually DO recommend you fudge your date by a few months, especially if you have a longer engagement.

Your salon gave you an estimate of 3 months? Did you do a rush order? I am interested in an Enzoani and was told 6 months estimate in arrival date, which seems more accurate. I wouldn’t worry because you’re still getting it very early from your wedding date despite the delay. About the weight, you just need to make sure you can fit into it next June.
